430# shingles?

HI, I looked at a cedar tear off job this weekend in a very upscale neighborhood. Guy told me their association requires a 430# per square shingle. I just left certainteeds site and it says grand manor is 425. The house next door just had a new roof put on and it looks like tri lams to me. Am I missing something or is his info bad? Maybe he means 330?

Check the HOA for weight requirements in their neighborhood. The heaviest shingle we put down is Certainteed Presidential TL’s about 340 per sq with accessories. If he wants heavy give him tile or slate.

I bet he meant 340 not 430. His roof could not hold tile or slate. I think you have answered my question. thanks

GAF Camelots are 460 pounds per square, similar style to Grand Manor
