Anyone talking to their clients about IBHS’s Fortified Roof program and successfully making the up-sell in hurricane areas?
I’m currently creating marketing material about it for a roofer and a PA. Curious to hear if others have had success with the program and if it’s catching on anywhere? Any probs with the certification itself or issues with insurance endorsements that cover some of the costs?
If you don’t know anything about it, IBHS created the Fortified Roof Standards to offer better performance in hurricanes and other severe weather. Some insurance policies even have an endorsement that will cover the cost of the Certified Inspector. Presumably helps decrease the odds of homeowner’s experiencing a loss in severe weather, which benefits the carrier in the long-run.
