Full screen vs half screen windows

on an older house is half screen more common?
is half screen just the lower sash? full means the upper and lower have a screen; 2 screens? what is the benefit of 2 screens?
thanks guys

Where on your roof are these screens and what purpose do they serve?
Are they in your skylights?

Ax, you’re cracking me up.

The purpose of screens is two fold:

Open windows for ventilation ('cause Gweedo burned the dinner… again) & keep bugs out.

Shade for energy efficiency.

Screens that cover the entire window opening are an aftermarket item & are the energy efficiency type.

Factory units are in the lower opening portion only.

Marshall, correct me if I’m wrong here (I’m a roofer only & some of us - few - are into the siding & window end of the business).

Taser what on earth do you have going on there?

i’m talkin half screen vs full screen on replacemt windows.

Do I need to get it translated into “Taser Speak”?

1/2 screen is standard. it is a screen that covers half the window.

full screen costs extra and covers the whole window.

all you normally need is a 1/2 screen.

you still havent told us where you are located?

i dont think a screen has anything to do with energy efficiency. just to keep bugs out. low e glass, insulated sash’s and argon gas helps with energy efficiency.

thanks
