Osb with smooth face

I am told that osb sheathing is not used for open eaves because the surface appearance is unacceptable. With the large price difference with plywood, I would think someone would figure a way to provide an exposure rated ‘A’ face on osb.

Does this exist?

OSB isn’t designed or engineered for exposure to the elements.

If the osb says ‘exposure 1’, and the acx says ‘exposure 1’, I would think they would both hold up equally to the elements if properly painted. Is there some other rating system?

Whatever you want showing in open soffit,…use…then start your OSB above the opened part,…there is only one look for OSB as far as I know.
