Pinholes in new shingles

Been a roofer for 38 years, recently I noticed new Timberline shingles by GAF had pinholes all thru out the shingles. The pinholes were on about 30 shingles. I asked around and no one had ever heard of this. But GAF told me that this was a common phenomenon in all shingles. Have any of you ever heard of this.

Sounds like they’re going a little to far with their fat vs. fit shingles.
I’ve seen it occasionally on felt but never shingles
