I’m replacing my roof and would like to install good quality boots that I don’t have to worry about for a long time. Any recommendations, thanks!
The quality varies, I always get a painted steel base and put a repair collar on them.
A repair collar is just the rubber part and they are sold separately, if you can’t find repair collars use 2 pipe boots or cut the rubber out of one and use that.
The flange is rarely an issue water-wise. Painted steel or aluminum will perform well. The rubber is the weak link( besides installer). I’ve rarely seen a boot last more than 10 years due to UV degradation.
