Would 7/8" or 1" plywood be advisable for a roof with rafters 48" oc? Would 2x decking be preferable?

Only time I ever run into 48" in centers my area, philly, are old front porches. Normally they were built with 5/4 x 12, if you were going to redeck with that it would be very expensive. I have redecked 32" centers with double 5/8 double staggered before, but don’t know how that would hold up in the long run on 48". Your best bet to prevent sagging would be toung and groove 2x6’ I have installed them on up to 6’ centers with no problem.
