Ridge tile crack

One of the ridge tiles in my house cracked but the two pieces sit firmly on the ridge. The roofer put some sealant/tile adhesive in the gap to seal the crack. I’m concerned if this is reliable to stop water leak.

The reason we have not replaced the cracked tile is that the ridge tiles seemed to be glued to the ridge with some black tar or something and it’s very difficult to remove. I’m afraid that the neighboring tiles would also break in the process of removing. Also not sure if we can find matching ridge tiles.

I’ll appreciate any advice.

Depending on the type of tile you have and the age of the tile it might be difficult to match (colors)(Type) anyway.Without pictures to see how the tiles were joined its pointless to try to give you proper and useful advice.So post some pix and receieve some replies.
